March, day one

1st mornings session. 14 black sacks full of other peoples rubbish plus car parts and a wooden step ladder which, for one reason or another, was found laying in a ditch along the main driveway. We are out again tomorrow to get more to add to the pile so its not too late to come and join us for an hour or so. Same time as this morning to meet up in the car park (9.15) for a 9.30 start.

Another ten black sacks of rubbish were added to the pile from yesterday making 30 (at least) that members of the FODP have collected over the two days. Last year we collected something like 70 black sacks of rubbish from four weekends which were spread over the year going by this weekend it would appear that that figure may be beaten. It is a shame that people treat the parkland the way that they do, but thankfully with the work carried out by members of the FODP who give their time freely the majority of those that use the park will see a difference.

Thanks to Don Tait for the reports and photos.
